We recently had the pleasure of styling a stunning civil ceremony photoshoot at the beautiful Grand Hotel in Malahide. With timeless ivory tones, fresh florals, and soft candlelight, the décor created a truly romantic atmosphere perfect for any wedding celebration.

From the moment guests entered the venue, every detail was designed to reflect romance and sophistication. We started by draping the entrance to the ballroom, creating a soft and elegant tunnel effect using flowing ivory fabric. This was enhanced with floral arrangements and soft candlelight placed along the staircase, instantly setting the tone for the day.

Civil Ceremony Setup with Ivory Elegance

For the ceremony space, we dressed each chair in crisp white covers and tied them with elegant ivory sashes. Along the aisle, we placed low floral trays filled with white roses and hydrangeas, enhanced by the soft glow of candles.

At the top of the aisle, a white wooden arch became the centrepiece. It was beautifully filled with fresh flowers in soft ivory tones, creating a natural frame for the couple. Behind it, we installed an ivory draped backdrop to give the ceremony space a soft and luxurious finish.

Draping and Décor that Flows

To keep the décor flowing throughout the venue, we extended our styling into the main reception room. The grand entrance into the ballroom was fully draped in matching ivory fabric, tied back neatly to reveal the staircase. The stairs were decorated with flower arrangements and candles to welcome guests in a warm, elegant way.

Reception Room Styling with Floral Details

Inside the ballroom, we added tall gold geometric stands topped with lush floral arrangements to tie in with the ceremony décor. At the base of each stand, we placed candlelight to add warmth and romance to the space.

Every detail was chosen to complement the soft ivory colour palette, creating a consistent look from entrance to ceremony to reception.

On one of the hottest weekends Ireland has seen in years, Sarah and Stephen celebrated their wedding at the stunning Powerscourt Hotel. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and the entire day felt like something out of a fairytale.

We were absolutely thrilled to be part of their special celebration.

A Bride with a Clear Vision

From the very beginning, we knew this wedding was going to be special. Sarah was an absolute joy to work with—warm, thoughtful, and full of great ideas. In particular, she had a clear vision for her wedding style: soft pastel tones with gentle hints of lilac and lavender to create a romantic and elegant atmosphere.

This dreamy palette worked beautifully against the backdrop of the lush venue and golden summer sunlight.

Sarah and Stephen chose to have their civil ceremony outdoors, on the elegant terrace at Powerscourt Hotel. This area, framed by manicured hedging and timeless stone architecture, created a breathtaking and peaceful setting for their vows.

To bring their vision to life, we styled the ceremony space as follows:

• A beautiful flower arch welcomed guests at the aisle entrance, featuring pastel blooms in blush, lilac, ivory, and lavender.

• The aisle was lined with floral pew ends and a soft flower garland, leading to a second arch placed at the altar.

• We dressed the bride and groom chairs with matching florals and delicate ribbons to complete the romantic look.

As a result, the whole scene felt calm, elegant, and unforgettable.

Reusing Ceremony Décor for the Reception

At Wow Weddings, we design every setup with style—and sustainability—in mind. One of our goals is to repurpose ceremony décor whenever possible, helping couples get the most from each detail throughout their big day.

After the ceremony, we reused several key items to transform the reception space:

• We moved the flower garland to the top table, instantly adding colour and texture.

• The main flower arch became a picture-perfect backdrop behind the cake table.

• On the guest tables, we used geo stands topped with floral balls from the ceremony, tying the entire design together beautifully.

In the end, this thoughtful reuse created a seamless, cohesive look from day to night.

A Heatwave to Remember

The weather on July 12th, 2025 brought a rare Irish heatwave. While a few guests left with some unexpected sun-kissed cheeks, the warmth added something truly special to the day. Everyone smiled a little brighter, and laughter carried through the air.

Combined with the couple’s laid-back charm and the venue’s stunning backdrop, the summer sun made the celebration feel extra joyful.
